The Ministry of Environment and Energy honored the Foundation for its contribution to the restoration of the burned areas of Parnitha through a comprehensive program of anti-erosion and anti-flooding projects.
Following the fires of August 2023, we responded immediately, allocating €2,100,000 for the restoration and reforestation of 11,124 acres of burned land, in collaboration with the General Directorate of Forests and Forest Environment.
The interventions focused on the Agios Georgios and Platanaki streams, where log barriers, brushwood barriers, and log dams were constructed, strengthening flood protection and allowing nature to regenerate.
