ATHANASIOS C. LASKARIDIS CHARITABLE FOUNDATION

Continuing our dynamic and productive collaboration with the Ministry of National Defense, which began in 2021, we signed our second three-year Memorandum of Cooperation.

During the first three years, a total of 35 coastal clean-ups were carried out in seven areas of the country, with the participation of more than 1,000 volunteers from all branches of the Armed Forces. Thanks to this joint effort, 16 tons of waste were removed, recorded, and studied, providing valuable data. At the same time, underwater cleanups were also carried out with the support of the “Typhoon Project.”

The new Memorandum sets even more ambitious goals: doubling the number of clean-ups over the next three years and expanding the actions to more areas of the country. The “Cyclone Project” is now part of these actions, reinforcing the cleanup efforts both on land and at sea.

The renewal of this partnership underscores the Foundation’s and the Armed Forces’ steadfast commitment to protecting Greece’s natural wealth and leaving a cleaner environment for future generations.
