Akis is an Environmental Scientist, a graduate of the University of the Aegean, with experience in environmental research and field operations. He has participated in research projects on the recording and geographical distribution of reptile and amphibian species in Greece. He joined the Typhoon Project of the Athanasios C. Laskaridis Charitable Foundation with active operational involvement in the field, contributing to environmental sampling, the development of a sampling operational model, aerial drone documentation of coastlines, and coordination of a field team. He currently works at the Foundation’s headquarters as Assistant Project Manager, supporting the Typhoon and Cyclone projects.
